The cost of a caregiver depends on the specific service and the city. Prices vary depending on the type of service (e.g., one-off/regular) and location – prices in Munich differ from those in other German cities.
You can find a complete and up-to-date price list for private individuals in our help center . The current hourly rates are listed there transparently.
This is how the price is determined at the Helferei together:
The booking and brokerage fee is charged once after the first order for regular bookings.
Your final invoice amount will adjust automatically if you change the number of hours for your order. The decisive factor is always the actual time worked, which you can modify yourself on our platform – you only pay after the order is completed and based on the actual hours worked.
Good to know: Since 2025, you can deduct 80% of your childcare costs (up to a maximum of €4,800 per child per year) as special expenses from your taxable income. The actual tax savings therefore depend on your personal tax rate.
Since 2025, you can deduct 80% of your childcare costs, up to a maximum of €4,800 per child per year, as special expenses for tax purposes. Requirements include that your child is under 14 years old, lives in your household, and you pay for childcare by bank transfer or electronically.
What does that mean in concrete terms?
Let's assume you earn €60,000 gross per year and spend €3,000 annually on childcare:
But how much exactly is your taxable income? Your gross salary of €60,000 is not automatically your taxable income. From this €60,000, certain pension contributions and other tax-deductible expenses are first subtracted – for example, your pension and health insurance contributions or work-related expenses.
Let's assume that after these deductions, €48,000 remains as taxable income. Due to the €2,400 deductible childcare costs, this amount decreases to €45,600. The tax office will therefore calculate your income tax based on €45,600 instead of €48,000.
The €2,400 will therefore not be deducted directly from your tax, but from your taxable income. How much income tax you actually save ultimately depends on your personal tax rate.
