Three points are particularly important to us at Helferei to ensure a good fit between you and the helpers in carpentry:

• Proven knowledge & qualifications: Especially in carpentry and for interior work areas that require professional specialization, we pay attention to proven knowledge and experience. We check this for all helpers. We often work with subcontractors and partner companies for jobs that need to be carried out by a specialist (e.g. painting and floor laying work, electrics). More about this in our terms of use.
• Availability in terms of time and location: In addition to technical knowledge, another issue in the skilled and specialized crafts is availability. In terms of time and location. If possible, we will accommodate your schedule and any urgencies. We know how difficult it is to get support in specialized carpentry.
• Costs and their predictability: Our online booking system gives you the best possible overview of costs, depending on the booked duration. Furthermore, you never pay for time that wasn't used – after each job, you and your helpers have 24 hours to adjust the booking duration. Only then is the invoice generated. If we collaborate with subcontractors or partner companies, you will receive a quote for the applicable flat rates. The job only goes through once you have approved this quote.

Such information is not only incredibly helpful when selecting suitable helpers. Certain helpers might accept or decline your request precisely because they (do not) possess the necessary tools.

Costs for all-round tradespeople via the Helferei -Platform:

The cost of hiring a general handyman depends on the specific service and the city. Prices vary depending on the service (e.g., furniture assembly, general handyman work) and location – prices in Munich differ from those in other German cities.

A complete and up-to-date price list for private individuals can be found on our homepage under "Services ." The current hourly rates are listed there transparently. Prices for business clients can be found on our business page .

This is how the price is calculated:

• The hourly rate of your booked service multiplied by the duration of the service you have chosen.
• A one-time booking and brokerage fee of €3.90 for private individuals or €4.30 for business customers (incl. VAT)

The booking and brokerage fee is charged once after the first order for regular bookings.

Your estimated total price will be displayed transparently during the online booking process. It adjusts automatically if you change the number of hours. However, the actual hours worked are always the determining factor – you only pay after the job is completed and based on the actual hours worked.

Costs for qualified tradespeople (e.g. electricians, painters, floor layers, etc.):

For jobs requiring professional expertise , such as flooring and tiling, painting, and electrical work, we collaborate with qualified subcontractors who bill based on quotes. These quotes depend on the specific scope of the job. For more information, visit our page for expert trade services !

You will receive an invoice for all jobs, which you can use to deduct up to 20 percent of your expenses for handymen services from your taxes at the end of the year. You will find the invoice 24 hours after completing your job in your profile under the "documents" tab. It serves as a receipt that you can submit with your tax return. This will reduce your tax liability by this amount.

For more complex jobs, such as laying floors and tiles, or painting and electrical work, we often collaborate with qualified subcontractors. They typically come for an initial site visit. Afterwards, you'll receive a fixed-price quote, including all the details of how it's calculated. Only if you accept this quote will the contract be finalized.

We try to estimate the final amount as accurately as possible. However, we ask for your understanding that it is sometimes not possible to predict all details precisely in carpentry.

That's absolutely no problem – the invoice is always based on the actual duration of the order. So you don't have to worry about paying for something you didn't receive.

Your cooperation is very important for this:

• After completing a job, both you and your helpers have 24 hours to adjust the booking duration on our platform to the actual job duration .
• To do this, click on the respective booking details in your profile and then on the pencil icon "Change booking".
• This gives you the opportunity to adjust the time or duration of a task.

The invoice will only be automatically generated after 24 hours, thus triggering the payment.

Most of our handymen in the carpentry & DIY are equipped with the usual tools and aids for regular jobs.

Is it going to be very technical, or do you have specific requirements for things like light bulbs, siphons, sunshades, tiles, screws, or wall plugs? No problem, in these cases there are two options:

• Procure your own tools and equipment: You provide or purchase the necessary materials before your helpers are deployed. This ensures that everything needed for successful task completion is available.
• You can book additional time for procuring materials and supplies: In this case, your helper will take care of it. This can be booked as an add-on option on our platform. If you choose this option, as much time as you require will be allocated for this purpose in addition to the regular task. The cost of the materials themselves will be reimbursed to the helper based on the submitted receipt.

It is very important that you communicate transparently with your helpers in advance, especially regarding equipment and potential material costs. This way, everyone is as prepared as possible and your task can be carried out to everyone's complete satisfaction without any surprises.

There are two possibilities here:

• Agreement between you and the handyman: Either come to an agreement directly with the craftsman or craftswoman immediately after the job has been completed. By the way: a possible and fair adjustment of the invoice amount for both sides can be part of this agreement. You would simply have to communicate this to the handyman.

Small but important tip: In general, we can only emphasize how important communication between you and your helpers is before the start of the job, especially in the handymen and craft sector. Don't be afraid to discuss all relevant details and open questions in advance - there's no such thing as a stupid question! Experience has shown that this is very beneficial for everyone's satisfaction. At the very latest, you should clarify any discrepancies or misunderstandings before invoicing.

We personally select all our helpers. Before activating their profiles on our platform, we verify their identity, their skills, and their business registration or tax ID number. Where necessary, we provide support with the registration process.

As registered self-employed individuals, we then connect our helpers with your neighborhood.

This means that they do not work for us and that all service contracts are concluded directly between you as a customer and our helping hands. Helferei acts purely as an intermediary. This means that our helpers are themselves responsible for complying with the relevant safety and insurance precautions for assignments. For particularly complex jobs or very valuable items, we recommend that you check with the respective handyman or carpenter whether the relevant insurance cover is in place.

We generally select all our helpers personally.

Firstly, we focus on the individual: Before activating a profile on our platform, we verify not only the helpers' identity but also their talents and experience. Especially in the area of ​​domestic help, we inquire about relevant prior experience. This allows us to confidently match our helpers with our clients at all times. For example, if someone doesn't upload their proof of identity, they won't appear in our pool of service providers and therefore cannot be booked.

Secondly, we check the administrative side: We ensure that we record all important data on the tax situation (e.g. craft license) and insurance status. If important information is missing, we will either help you to obtain it. If this is not possible and cooperation by legal means is therefore not possible, we refrain from working with the person in question.
