What tasks does a domestic help or cleaner from Helferei take on?

Our domestic helpers will take care of the basic cleaning of your apartment or house - from vacuuming and mopping to surface cleaning. So everything stays clean and tidy. There is a note field in the online booking. There you can leave important details, e.g. the size of your home and what needs to be done.

It is important that you clearly communicate your expectations and any special requirements (e.g. preference for certain cleaning products, leaving out certain areas) when booking in the information field or at the latest at the first appointment. The domestic helpers will work according to your wishes and ideas.

Here are some suggestions for you on what the regular tasks of a domestic help are in the living room and in each room:

Entire living space:
  • Ventilate
  • Clean up
  • Dusting surfaces / skirting boards

Can your domestic help take on additional tasks on top of the regular ones?

Of course. Additional services include, for example, laundry or ironing. Both can be booked as additional options on our platform. If you choose these options, as much time as you wish will be scheduled for them.

A particularly thorough cleaning of the entire premises or selected areas such as the garage or cellar can also be an additional service. You should mention this explicitly.

As a general rule, it always helps if you discuss your expectations transparently with your domestic help or cleaner in advance.

When should I book a regular cleaning and when should I book a one-off cleaning?

You should book a regular cleaning if two criteria are met:

  • At least one order per month
  • Long-term planning (e.g. at least two months)

In all other cases, your order will be considered a one-off.

What exactly is a "particularly experienced cleaner"?

You can now book particularly experienced cleaners via Helferei . The core criteria here are experience and customer satisfaction - and both are not arbitrary.

Our highly experienced cleaning staff have been selected on the basis of various quality criteria:

  • A high number of cleanings carried out: at least 50 on our platform
  • Relevant customer feedback: Only service providers that consistently achieve very good ratings over a longer period of time can be included in this category. 90% of their ratings must be 5 stars in total.

This means that objective assessment criteria are decisive! A domestic helper cannot award themselves the seal of "particularly experienced".

Domestic helpers in this category have been included on the basis of their objectively assessed performance and reliability. If you want a well-coordinated, professional cleaner who can proactively assess your living situation and get straight to work without a lengthy briefing, this service is ideal for you.

This service category can currently only be booked in Berlin, as we have relevant experience here. We will expand it to other cities in the near future.

How do I know how long it will take to clean my home?

Our experience shows the following guide values:

  • From 70 m2: approx. 2 - 2.5 hours
  • From 100 m2: 4 hours or more so that you are satisfied with the result

As already mentioned, these are guide values. They may vary from person to person: For example, if you want a very superficial clean of selected areas in your home, it doesn't necessarily take 4 hours, even for 100m2. Deep cleaning, on the other hand, can take more than 4 hours.

What do I do if I don't know in advance exactly how long my cleaning will take?

That's no problem at all - the invoice is always based on the actual duration of the order. So you don't have to worry about paying for something you haven't received.

However, your cooperation is very important for this:

  • After completing an assignment, both you and your helpers have 24 hours to adjust the booking duration on our platform to the actual duration of the assignment.
  • To do this, click on the relevant booking details in your profile and then on the pencil icon "Change booking".
  • This gives you the opportunity to adjust the time or duration of an order.

The invoice is only generated automatically after 24 hours, thereby triggering payment.

I only need domestic help for one hour, why do I have to book 1.5 hours?

It is important to us to offer our customers and helpers a high-quality service at fair conditions. In addition, the local aspect and proximity are important criteria for all our services. As far as possible, we will provide you with helpers who live as close to you as possible.

Nevertheless, the distances in Berlin and Munich are sometimes long and you will not be charged for the helpers' journeys. Therefore, we think it is fair to let the helpers travel for at least 1.5 hours. In addition, regardless of the size of your apartment, some tasks will inevitably take time (preparing tools, drying floors, etc.).

We have therefore set a minimum duration of 1.5 hours to guarantee you a high-quality service!

How much does domestic help or cleaning via Helferei cost?

In each service category, the price depends on the respective service and also varies per city. You can find a complete price list for Berlin and Munich on our homepage. The prices for corporate customers can be found on our page for companies.

However, your estimated final price is displayed transparently in the online booking process. It increases or decreases with the number of hours you select. Look in the top right-hand corner of your browser. In any case, you only pay after the order has been completed and according to the actual duration of the order.

In addition, there is a one-off booking and matching fee of €3.90 (incl. VAT). This fee is charged once after the first order for one-off and regular bookings.

Will I receive an invoice?

You will receive an invoice for all jobs, which you can use to deduct up to 20 percent of your expenses for handymen services from your taxes at the end of the year. You will find the invoice 24 hours after completing your job in your profile under the "documents" tab. It serves as a receipt that you can submit with your tax return. This will reduce your tax liability by this amount.

We advise all customers to make use of this option in order to receive a portion of their expenses back at the end of the year.

Does my health insurance pay for domestic help or cleaning that I book with Helferei ?

We have already worked with health insurance companies on an individual basis for customers. However, Helferei does not yet have a comprehensive reimbursement agreement with a statutory health insurance provider.

Just ask us if we can support your individual case via your health insurance!

What does Helferei do to ensure customers' trust in the helpers?

As a matter of principle, we select all our helpers personally.

On the one hand, we look at the individual person: Before we activate a profile on our platform, we not only check the identity of the helpers, but also their talents and experience. Especially in the area of domestic help, we ask for relevant previous experience. This allows us to match our helpers with our customers at any time with a clear conscience. For example, if someone does not upload their own proof of identity, this person will not appear in our pool of service providers and therefore cannot be booked.

Secondly, we check the administrative side: We ensure that we record all important data on the tax situation (e.g. craft license) and insurance status. If important information is missing, we will either help you to obtain it. If this is not possible and cooperation by legal means is therefore not possible, we refrain from working with the person in question.
